Rugby Football Union (RFU) Touring Abroad Guidelines
In order to go on a Rugby Tour abroad there are a number of RFU regulations you need to follow if you are a Club or a School.
Here's a breakdown of key areas you must follow:
Permission to Tour:
- Clubs and schools must obtain permission from the RFU to tour overseas.
- This involves completing application forms and providing the necessary documentation.
- Approval from the host union is also mandatory.
Safeguarding:
- RFU Safeguarding Policy and specific guidelines for touring with children must be followed.
- DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) checks for adults supervising children are essential.
Code of Conduct:
- Players and officials are expected to represent their club and the sport responsibly.
- Guidelines cover behaviour in hotels, public areas, and during social activities.
- Rules regarding alcohol and drug use are also included.
Insurance:
Adequate insurance coverage is required, including:
