Before You Travel
- Get your doctor's professional advice on the risks and benefits of travelling with your specific tendonitis condition. They can also recommend medications, stretches or other measures to manage your symptoms during your trip.
- Depending on the severity of your tendonitis and the distance you are travelling it might be a good idea to consider travelling by train or a cruise which might be more comfortable than flying as they involve less sitting and potential starin.
- Pack comfortable shoes with good arch support, compression socks or braces if recommended by your doctor and any medication or pain relief tools you might need.
Whilst Travelling
- Avoid sitting for an extended period even on trains or planes. Get up and move about every 30 minutes to stretch your loges and improve circulation.
- Opt for hotels or rentals with elevators and other amenities that can minimize strain on your affected tendon.
- Avoid carrying heavy luggage as this can put additional strain on your injured tendon. Hire a porter.
- Don't push yourself too hard. Take breaks when you need to and avoid activities that aggravate your tendonitis.
- Be flexible with your itinerary and be prepared to modify activities if your tendonitis flares up.
Safety and comfort are paramount. Consult with your doctor before any trips.
