Definition of Speed Skating
Speed Skating is a competitive form of ice skating in which the person is racing another person (s) at a speed on a short or long track. The International Skating Union (ISU) refers to long track as "speed skating" and short track as "short track skating".

Common Injuries
Speed Skating is a reasonably safe sport, but some injuries do occur. Dislocated shoulder, cuts and pulled muscles are the most common injuries.
