Ski Seasonaires Travel Insurance FAQs
1. Why do I need a travel insurance policy if I have a GHIC card or Carte Neige?
The main reason to take out travel insurance is that our policies cover Repatriation and other benefits such as Cancellation and Personal Possessions, including your Activity Equipment.
2. Can I Ski and Snowboard every day with this policy?
Yes, there is no limit to the amount of skiing and snowboarding you can do daily.
3. If I injure myself or become ill and need to be returned to my home, am I covered?
Our policies will cover Repatriation back to your home in the UK. This is covered under the Medical Expenses of up to £5m. Some reasons for Repatriation are that treatment is unavailable in your area or that the Emergency Assistance Company considers the treatment insufficient.
4. Is average travel insurance covered under this policy when I am not skiing or snowboarding?
Yes, we cover all benefits listed in the Policy Wording and cover COVID-19 as well.
5. If I advance in skiing or snowboarding, can I upgrade the policy to cover me for other activities, such as off-piste skiing or snowboarding?
Yes, you will need to contact us before you start an activity so that we can add it to the existing policy.
6. Is Search and Rescue covered by these policies?
Yes, all our policies cover Search and Rescue. Please check the level of coverage for each scheme.
7. Does this policy cover me while working as a Chalet Host or in a Ski Shop?
Yes, the policy will cover you for these occupations and many others, such as Manual Work or being a Ski Rep.
8. What is the age limit on these policies?
The age limit is 65 years of age.
9. Does the policy cover Personal Liability and Personal Accidents?
Yes, all the policies will cover you for personal liability and personal accidents.
10. Why are the premiums higher if I travel to the USA or Canada?
The premium is higher because medical costs are more than if you are travelling to Europe.
Return Home Option
If your trip is between 3 and 6 months in length, you can return home once for a maximum of 10 days during the booked trip. If your trip is 6 and 12 months in length, you can return home twice for a maximum of 3 weeks for each visit during the booked trip.
Trips with no Pre-Booked Return Date
Where a single trip of more than 4 months duration has been booked, cover can be provided even if a return ticket date has not been confirmed. The cover should be issued with an estimated end date and once the return ticket is booked, any change in the end date would need to be notified and accepted by us before the expiry of the original policy. No breaks in cover are permitted and there must be no claims made or pending and no known circumstances likely to rise to a claim at the time of the date change.
