Before You Travel
- Discuss your travel plans with your doctor and get their approval to travel. They can advise of specific precautions, such as using ergonomic equipment or taking breaks more often.
- Choose activities and destinations that will not irritate your RSI. Avoid long periods of sitting.
- Look for rental properties and hotels with features such as roll-in showers, grab bars, and adjustable beds that will help you manage your RSI.
- Pack only what you need and use luggage with wheels to avoid lifting heavy Baggage.
- Pack any medication, splints, braces or other assistive devices you need.
Whilst you are Travelling
- Get up and move about every 30 minutes to avoid stiffness and pain.
- Bring a travel keyboard, mouse, and wrist rests on your laptop or tablet.
- Don't push yourself too much. Rest when you want to, and listen to your body.
- Ask for help from airport staff, airline personnel, or hotel staff if you require it.
