Overland Trips are participation tours in an autonomous vehicle. Everyone gets involved in the day-to-day running of the trip, pitching in to cook, clean, set up tents, and light fires.

Overlanding is about being willing to take on an adventure and assisting your guides, crew and fellow passengers in communal travel.

Overland Trips

You will witness some genuinely inspiring sights and adventures in any country you travel to.

Whilst suitability for overlanding is not based on age or fitness, it can get demanding, and it's about having the capability to deal with the unexpected.

It is strongly advised to look into what Vaccinations you may require, depending on where you travel. You may also need Malaria Tablets.

If you are participating in Trekking or travelling to areas of high altitude, you should be aware of and prepared for the effects of altitude sickness.

Finally, travel with a reputable company that maintains and regularly services their vehicles.

Overland Trips (Independent Travel)

  • Freedom and Flexibility. Overland travel allows you to choose your route, stop whenever you like, and stay as long as you want in a particular location.
  • Adventure and Challenge. Overland trips can be challenging, requiring you to be self-sufficient and resourceful. They can also be incredibly rewarding, providing a sense of accomplishment and a deeper appreciation for nature.
  • Cultural immersion. Overland travel allows you to get off the beaten path and experience different cultures firsthand. You can meet local people, learn about their way of life, and sample their cuisine.
  • Connection with Nature. Overland trips take you to some of the Earth's most remote and beautiful places, camping in national parks, exploring off-road trails and hiking through stunning scenery.

If you are considering an overland trip, there are a few things you will need to plan for.

  • Vehicle. Choose a vehicle for handling off-road travel. You must also equip your car with the necessary gear, such as a roof tent, camping stove, and extra supplies.
  • Route. Decide on your path and research the terrain, road conditions and campsites.
  • Permits and Visas. Ensure you have the necessary permits and visas for the countries you will travel through.
  • Safety. Overland travel can be dangerous, so being prepared for anything is essential. Let someone know your route, pack a first aid kit, and learn basic survival skills.
