Popular Destinations in Lanzarote
Costa Teguise
Visit the beautiful artificial resort of Costa Teguise. Costa Teguise is ideal for those with limited mobility; it is flat and lined with shops, bars and cafes, so it has everything you need in one resort.
Centred around the sandy beach of Las Cucharas, this resort was created in the 1970s to bring more tourism to Lanzarote.
Located on a bit of the island that 'sticks out,' Costa Teguise is typically windier than most, making it perfect for Windsurfing and Paragliding.
It is also home to the island's oldest Golf Course and many incredible Hiking trails.
Playa Blanca
Relax on Lanzarote’s newest resort, Playa Blanca. Located on the southern tip of Lanzarote, it is spread out along the coast but completely flat like Costa Teguise. It has gorgeous beaches with places to hire pedalos and jet skis.
You could easily spend a week there and not eat at the same restaurant twice, as Playa Blanca is packed with restaurants, bars, and many designer clothes and souvenir shops.
Accommodation here is generally more upmarket and can cost a few more pennies than the other resorts on the island; it is also quite far away from the airport, and a return taxi will not leave you with much change from 100 Euros.
Puerto del Carmen
Lanzarote's first resort, Puerto del Carmen, boasts a 6 km-long strip of beaches with many bars and restaurants.
Puerto del Carmen has more bustling nightlife and tends to attract young people to the area, but there's still plenty to do for everyone!
There is also a marina where you can hire a boat and explore the island's coast; book a Scuba Diving tour and discover Lanzarote's spectacular marine life.

Travel Risks in Lanzarote
Lanzarote has meagre crime rates, but you should exercise usual caution regarding your belongings and continuously monitor your valuables, as pickpockets can often operate in built-up areas.
Lanzarote is notoriously hot, so drink lots of water and pack a lot of sun cream; slather it on to avoid sunburn!
There is also a risk of spiking drinks in Lanzarote; if you suspect you have been spiked or require any emergency service, dial 112 for Never leave your drink unattended, and ensure you can see your bartender making it.
